PHOENIX (AP) — For the first time since 1999, Phoenix had measurable rainfall on Easter Sunday.
National Weather Service meteorologists also said Phoenix set a new daily rainfall record for March 31 with 0.28 inches, reaching that mark before noon Sunday.
That topped the city’s previous mark of 0.27 inches, set in 1949.
The weather service said the rainiest Easter on record for Phoenix was 1.19 inches when the holiday fell on March 26, 1989.
